One man allegedly coerced hundreds of teenage girls into sending explicit photos and videos over Facebook and Kik, according to a federal grand jury indictment. Officials believe David Ohmar Harris, a year-old from Las Vegas who often went by usernames Akito, Bowromes, Kami, Lelouch, and Zero on such platforms, may have taken advantage of up to minors in the U. The August indictment includes two counts of child pornography as well as stalking and extortion of one teenage girl. The ensuing investigation revealed up to more victims who Harris intimidated and harassed over Facebook and Kik between December and June He was arrested in Las Vegas in August and is being held in federal custody in Wisconsin. Kik, which has been at the center of another child pornography case in New Jersey, told BuzzFeed News in a statement that they encourage users to report inappropriate content. Harris could spend a minimum of 15 years in federal prison for each child pornography count if convicted. Attorney Schimel and U. Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin Scott Blader urge anyone threatened or asked to share explicit images with someone under these screen names to contact law enforcement at or by email at report doj. Earlier this year, a year-old girl in Virginia slipped out of her room late at night to meet, based on what she told friends, an year-old male college student with whom she met through a popular teen messaging app known as Kik Messenger. Kik is an online teen dating app that can be used for people to meet anonymously online using an instant messaging chat system. It also allows its users to exchange videos and images. It may sound like an example of how the digital age of cell phones and social media have pervaded the lives of young people as well as adults, but it is important to understand that Kik, and other "dating" apps are anything but harmless. There are no measures in place to authenticate who a child is communicating with or the age of the person. It is virtually impossible to know with whom a minor is communicating; making it easy for the activity to go unnoticed by a parent; and most importantly, exposes a minor to sexual predators. Too often, parents and guardians are unaware of the dangers their children have faced until their behavior becomes unmanageable. Keeping parents and guardians apprised of the dangers their children face in our current, highly interactive society, ERTP clinicians strive to protect parents and children from harmful agents, and prevent adolescents and teenagers from getting involved with activities that lead to dangerous behavior. Throughout the past decade, ERTP clinicians and support staff have treated adolescents harmed by the devastating effects of addiction, juvenile delinquency, peer pressure and low self-esteem. Now we are seeing the frightening effects of secretive, even subversive social media apps available to underage children that have open access to computers and mobile devices.
A 'year-old girl' Daniel Povey sent explicit images to was actually the police - but he already had nude pictures of girls as young as 8 on his phone. A Kingswood man has been jailed after he was caught trying to get naked pictures of underage girls on social media. Daniel Povey used online messaging app Kik to approach someone he thought was a year-old girl. The security officer repeatedly asked for nude pictures and videos from the girl, and sent images of himself carrying out a sexual act. But the 'girl' was in fact a fake profile set up by undercover police to catch online paedophile predators. And when they arrested the year-old, they found images of naked girls, some as young as eight or nine, on his phone. You had prepared stories for presentation on chat lines to young girls and those stories were the kind of lurid, highly imaginative fanciful sexual discussions and stories which were unrelated to reality but which you sought very soon during the conversation to start discussing with her, to suggest you wanted to do it to and with her. Chloe quickly identified herself as being a year-old schoolgirl, and Povey then sent the girl a prepared story of a sexual nature. He also encouraged the girl to carry out sexual acts on herself and sent her a video of a woman performing a sexual act on herself. The conversations continued over a number of days and Povey encouraged the 'girl' to send naked images of herself.
Mark Bennett said Tuesday, Aug. He said the Crockery Township girl told her parents, who contacted the Sheriff's Department. District Court records showed. Bennett said the details provide a chilling warning to parents about dangers lurking on the Internet.
Bennett said the defendant lied about his name, age, gender and interests in convincing 45 girls - ages 8 to 14 - to provide nude and sexually explicit photos. Then, he would extort them into providing additional photos. In one case, Walker allegedly wrote: "You've been tricked. I'm a guy. And I will email all the pics u sent and our convo about you wanting I would not block me, or delete kik, because if u do that, I'm still sending it to your school.
If you obey me and do everything I want, then I will delete your pics and any pics u send me in the future, and I will not email your school. But I warn you, if you disobey me once, I will send your pics right away to your school.
The girl, a year-old in Ontario, Canada, pleaded with him. He responded: "Do u really want to be known as a Whore at school? He told another girl that the photos would be shared with all of her Facebook friends, records said. The government said he also threatened parents when they tried to intervene. KIk Messager, a popular application for mobile devices, allows users to communicate in real time through typed messages, photos and videos. Users are identified through unique usernames.
Beginning last year, Walker began communicating with young girls in the U. He frequented websites popular with children. He pretended to be an adolescent girl and used different screen names. Once he identified girls between 8 and 14, he began chats on KIK Messenger. He would about trading photos, including nude photos, police said. Additionally, in order to lower the child victims' inhibitions, Walker injected sexual subject matters into their interactions, either by initiating sexually explicit conversations, or by sending sexually suggestive photographs of the young girls that he represented to be of himself.
Once a victim sent photos, Walker demanded more, the government said. Walker also created group chats with others who shared his sexual interest in children, the government said. Zoey Jane suggested they trade nude photos, but cautioned they would have to keep it secret. The girl sent photos of her exposed chest but said she felt "uncomfortable sending pics of my self," records showed. During the chat, the girl revealed the general location of where she lived and the name of her school. Walker, according to a chat excerpt, then told her she had been tricked and demanded she send more photos or "We will email the school your nude pic and your parents and family and friends and school will all see.
There's only one way out of this: You must obey us completely and do whatever we say to do. What's your choice? The girl complied with the demands but begged him to stop. She then told her parents, who contacted police. Police in Louisiana used a search warrant at the suspect's home soon after Ottawa County sheriff's deputies began investigating.
Walker was arrested on state charges in Louisiana but is now facing federal charges. Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
